If you have taken out a mortgage, personal loan or credit it is almost certain that you were sold payment protection insurance from your lender. PPI ideally covers your ability to repay your debt should you find yourself in difficult circumstances such as injured or unemployed, however, the lenders found a loophole and have been selling PPI to customers who were not eligible for the cover or who did not fit the particulars of the PPI they were sold. If you have paid for PPI you may be entitled to claim this money back. What you may not be aware of is why you could be eligible to claim and why the banks could face a huge wave of payouts

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that’s almost always caused by being exposed to asbestos. In this illness, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protecting lining that covers the majority of the body’s internal organs. Its most typical site is the pleura ( outer lining of the lungs and internal chest wall ), but it might also happen in the peritoneum ( the lining of the abdominal cavity ), the heart, the pericardium ( a sac that surrounds the heart ) or tunica vaginalis.

A decade ago, the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) had registered a total estimate of eight million people that were injured by slip and fall accidents alone. This figure probably includes all slip and fall incidents, whether rewarded or not, but it just goes to show that a lot of people experience this type of accident almost every day.

It has recently emerged that banks and insurance companies could be liable to pay over 4bn to customers who were fooled into paying for Payment Protection Insurance on a loan, mortgage or credit. A previous estimate of up to 1.2bn only covered customers who will attempt to reclaim the payments they have made but this new figure takes into consideration the extra amount of customers who the banks will be forced to give refunds to.

After being hurt in an accident one of the most intimidating tasks you face is choosing an lawyer to represent you. Accident victims are bombarded with television ads, billboards, yellow page ads, and in some instances, even direct mail advertisements. All of these ads have a few things in common. The attorney usually states they will “fight aggressively” for you, or that they’ve gotten their clients enormous settlements, and sometimes they even have flashy nicknames or catch phrases. Ignore the ads.

The success or failure of mesothelioma treatments basically depends on the phase of cancer at the time of exposure. Several treatment methods including traditional and modern are followed by doctors. Sometimes a combination of two or three conventional therapies including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy are used by physicians. Treatments enhance the lives of more than two-thirds of stage-1 and stage-2 patients by five years or more. Surgery has been doing the same in around 16% of the cases.

There are a lot of considerations when it comes to awarding of slip and fall cases if you win. Take note not to put your hopes up too high because it’s not as grandiose as you think. The law stipulates that the injured party will only be paid accordingly, and not under or over the requirement. Take note, a slip and fall case would be easier won if it would be done as a group complaint (which means, it should not only be you who has been aggravated).
